Topshop Personal Shopper Breakfast

Went for the Topshop Personal Shopper event today and what an experience it was! I've had an appointment with their personal shoppers before and I was really impressed with their service and the looks that they picked out for me. So I was definitely looking forward to see what new trends they've introduced since then. First up, what I wore:

(Topshop peter pan collared lace dress, Revoltage bow shorts, Zara nude heels, Casio gold watch, DIY bracelets)
Most comfortable heels ever.

There was a pretty long queue when I arrived (hehe you can't see it here cos I took this after the event) but thankfully I got in quickly through Josie from Vocanic. Thank you Josie! :)

Poor girls who had to sit out in the sun. They deserve a picture!

Immediately approached by the really friendly waiters with refreshments!

That dude behind is totally like, OOO! CHOCOLATES!!! omnomnomnom...

Saw the personal shopper who took me during my appointment! The one on the left. Sadly I can't remember her name :( I'm sorry! Names are just not my thing. She roped in her really awesome colleague for the pic. Needless to say they were both dressed impeccably. Look at that awesome haircut! Androgynous and sexy...reminds me of Omayra Mota.

Melody from missingavenue and her friend

Leopard preens! Also love the sheer maxi skirt. We exchanged pics cos they were there as Style Scout shortlistees too :)

Took some pictures of some amazing fashionistas who also graced the event. Being around so many fashionable people in one morning was such an experience! Everywhere I looked there was an outfit that I couldn't take my eyes off. Exciting much?

So I was waiting around for the trend talk to start WHEN I SAW!!! Coffee! Yeah, I'm a real addict. I had 2. Please don't judge me.

Anny Lin, Topshop's Personal Shopper, talked to us about the various trends and key pieces that Topshop in Singapore stocks. The ones I really liked were the Graduation trends (I'm a real sucker for casual Alexa Chung pieces) and the New Age Constellation trend, which consists of minimalistic pieces that are more structured.

Key piece from the New Age Constellation trend.

Ginette Chittick who finally wore colours!
Ginette Chittick was one of the guests at the breakfast. I'm loving how she has such a mix of colours on her that go so well together. Trust me when she says her wardrobe is all black, I see her in Lasalle all the time and never once was she in anything other than monotones. So Anny put together this outfit for her and I'm loving it :)

One of the looks that Anny styled with the culottes that Ginette likes. I love this look! Super chic and polished.

The talk was pretty useful, I liked how she said it's really not recommended to follow trends to the T with your whole outfit. The tip is to mix key pieces with your own. No one wants to look like a drone right? She also talked about other trends like Swedish Summer, and what to look out for this season (scalloped edges, light chiffony materials and denims in medium washes, not too light!). She also mentioned that if you're keen on the Personal Shopper service, you can bring in your own pieces and she can try and mix and match new pieces with your own.

The event also tied in with the launch of the new Sandstorm makeup collection, which I thought was pretty rad! I loved the nailpolish colours, which all complement each other nicely. I'm just wondering which ones I should get...or if I should get them all. Hehehe...

Sandstorm makeup collection! Loving the bright colours. I'm a real fan of nail polish cos of WAH Nails.

Topshop 214 magazine. I was pretty elated to see this cos I was pining for it after seeing Kate Bosworth with one.

BEST LOOKING CORSET EVER ON A MAN! Ok...the only one I ever saw. But still. Fierce.
Pretty much want everything on this table. Want the table too.
The sweetest little girl ever. She dragged her Hello Kitty bag all over. Pretty in pink!
Tote from the goodie bag.
So basically this was my virgin experience at an actual 'fashion event'. I'm really glad I had this opportunity to go totally gaga over clothes and be around so many fashionistas in one area. Also very impressed that Topshop Knightsbridge has all the trends stocked! So you can get the hottest pieces from all the trends in one area. Pretty awesome. I'm even happier because I finally got my red blazer. Hehehe. Pics soon! Toodles for now!

Isabel Marant 2011 Spring RTW

I know we're already in the Fall season, but I couldn't help but share this awesome show by Isabel Marant. Every single piece is so wearable and yet oozes so much sex appeal that'll drive guys insane. Also helps if your legs are super long and your hair is just that perfectly windswept. But okay, I'm supposed to talk about the clothes! I love that almost everything from this show can be mix and matched and worn in sunny Singapore. As I've mentioned before, our weather is so unpredictable, and I like that this collection has sweaters that you can just throw on without looking too over-the-top or making you feel too warm. Here are some pieces I would totally DIE FOR:

I preferred this one over the strapless one because I have no boobies :(

RED AND PINK AGAIN I'M SORRY! lol. Yup just really so into this look right now.

Day look with colours that really work.

Every girl needs a little white dress.

Simple yet sexy! I like how this show had flirty girly looks and also more feminine looks like this.

The perfect look for a rainy day. Just add wellingtons and an umbrella.

Hoped you guys liked it as much as I did! I saw Isabel's fall season too and the fur boots totally blew me away. Too bad we can't have those in Singapore :( Anyway, next up is Balmain! Stay gold till then!

Salmon Red

Fell in love with red/pink combination after seeing FashionSquad rocking it so many times before! And of course who could miss out Chuck Bass in this ensemble...

The outfit came second for me though...first was his smoldering eyes. Hehe.

I'll be off to Topshop's Personal Shopper event on Saturday. I can't wait! Who can resist breakfast while looking at awesome clothes?! Food and clothes are probably the two things that keep me alive. Or more accurately, they are the only 2 things I crave for at all times of the day. But anyways, I've been looking through Topshop's website trying to compile a list of things to look out for on Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to score the awesome red blazer featured below because I've been looking for it forever to no avail :(

Will be back to blog about Saturday's event! Oodles of toodles...

Sunday Blues

(Striped top and khaki jeans, Zara. Trilby Hat, Topshop. Black flats, ASOS. Aigner watch, DIY woven bracelet, Country Road messenger)

Errand Sunday. Running around Singapore with the unpredictable weather makes dressing up really hard. I threw on the hat just so I wouldn't have to lug an umbrella! Hehe, I'm sure my mom wouldn't approve.

Decided to return a pair of leather boots I received from ASOS a few days back. I might just go on a full on rage here just thinking about it but I guess all I can say is ASOS sizing for shoes really suck. I ordered this pair of flats and they were too small so I had to send them to a shoe expander. And now after sizing up for my boots, they came almost 2 sizes too big, but were labeled UK7. I mean, how can a company be so inconsistent with their sizing, especially if its an online store? I had to pay 50 bucks to get them shipped back, my heart almost dropped when I saw the invoice :( I guess this is what I get for overspending. Sigh. What's a girl to do when it comes to shoes?

DIY: Woven and Braided Bracelets

Chanel (style.com)

Giles & Brother (style.com)

How pretty are these babies? Breaking out the pliers and chains! Time for some major DIY...

I love unique jewellery, especially handmade ones. And having too much time on my hands I decided to DIY a couple of pieces. I started out really calm and collected, and halfway through I almost went crazy with frustration because I got really confused with the instructions. But here's what I have so far!

Braided Hex Nut Suede bracelet

 Woven Embroidery Thread bracelets

I might post a tutorial on these soon, but be forewarned that this is not for the weak! 4 hours and plenty of broken nails later I only have 5 bracelets to show...how pathetic. But now that I'm used to making them, maybe soon I will have an arsenal of these to mix and match! Awesome possum.

Colours are overrated. Sometimes anyway. Take a look at these monochromatic interiors! I'm loving the idea of black bathroom walls...other than being so aesthetically pleasing, think of how much dirt and scum you can hide with all that black. And how less jarring it would be to turn on your bathroom lights in the morning when you're all groggy and half awake. I LOVE IT. Too bad my bathroom walls are all tiled...
